FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

Today I've realized that coming back to Argentina was the best thing I've ever done in my life. I was so happy to be there, in my school, with my real friends, sitting next to Val and behind Josefa. It was amazing! I just couldn't have asked for more. Besides, IM A SENIOR. I'm school royalty, it feels beautiful <3

Weeeeeeekend I'm waiting for you!

I think this Friday I'm gonna be singing "Friday" by Rebecca Black all day long! I cannot wait for this weekend. My mom is going out of town and she's coming back on Sunday, and I am sort of staying alone. I mean, my uncle is here but he is probably gonna spend the whole weekend with his girlfriend, and I'm gonna be having the time of my life. It is also the last weekend before school starts on Tuesday, and on Monday night we are all going to go celebrate to someone's house and then we are gonna stay there the whole night and then go to school together and show up and be like "EVERYBODY STAND UP FOR SENIORS 2012, YEAAAAAAH BUDDY". lol.

No, seriously, with my friends we are celebrating on Friday, Saturday, (I dk about Sunday, and Monday. It's gonna be EPIC. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!

This is going to be the perfect end to an amazing summer, and the perfect beginning of an amazing year!

Proud To Take A Step Back

The end of the school year in Argentina arrived, which means I am technically not a junior anymore. In 4 months, I am going to walk through that door, knowing that it is the last first day of school ever.

Seeing pictures of the Seniors graduating and doing all of the cool things that they do in my school, make me stick to my decision of going back, and having the time of my life. Partying, enjoying life, having fun, making trouble, breaking out, being with my friends, and just being a teenager for the last year.

There are gonna be times where I am going to wonder why the hell I went back, but I'm sure that at the end, it is going to be worth it. My biggest fear about going back to Argentina is that I came to America to become true my dream of being an actress, and eventually, a director, and I feel that by going back and I making a step backwards. Like I am giving up those dreams for just a year with my friends.

But it is not just a year with my friends. It is also the memories. Memories that will stay with me forever. It is the year where I can let it all go. It is being a Senior. Enjoying school, because it will never happen again. It is going out to nightclubs every single weekend and getting completely drunk just for the hell of it. It is doing stupid things and laughing for no reason.

I need to understand that 2012 it is not the end of the world. It is just the end of a chapter in my life, and the beginning of a new one. I am dedicated to live my dreams next chapter, in the future, because there is still a lot of time ahead; I am just a kid. I need to learn how to wait, be patient, and enjoy what I have now. And life is giving me this chance of doing something that I will never regret, and that is now or never. I have my whole life to go to Europe, go to college, improve my knowledge in directing and producing, going to acting classes, moving to LA, etc etc etc. But all I have right now, is the last year of my youth. I always say I want to be forever young, but... it is stupid to say that if I never actually enjoyed being young because I always worried too much about the future, and planned to many things that never really happen.

So for the first time in my life, I am willing to dream with those normal things that are supposed to happen to teenagers. I am going to look forward to school, enjoy the annoying teachers, laugh with my friends, and just be 17 (my birthday is next March).

I am happy with the decision I made. I might be taking the easy way, I might be giving up, I might not be fighting with all I have, but I know that in the end, I am not going to regret it. And most important, why do I have to choose between my dreams and my Senior year when I can have both, one a time?

LIVE YOUR LIFE

PS: Sometimes you have to take a half step back to take two forward, just like people who run track take a few steps backwards in order to gain speed and then advance 1000 steps forward til they reach the finish line.

Why I am Going Back To Argentina

Senior Year

2012 might not be the end of the world, but it is the end of my childhood; it's the end of my life as a school student; the end of 12 years of being with my friends everyday; the end of my life as I know it. So in some way, it is the end of my world, but the beginning of a new one.

Last night I had some kind of emotional breakdown about it. I started remembering all of those good memories, all of the things that I did, the mistakes that I made, the things that I did right... but what made me cry the most were all of those things that I did not do, specially the year that I came here.

When I remember about my sophomore year, all I remember is how amazing it was and how amazing it could had been if I had stayed. I don't regret coming here, but it kills me to know that I was having the time of my life and I did not know it.

I obviously missed my junior year with my friends, but I'm coming back, and out of nowhere, I'm gonna be a senior. It is gonna be my last year to wake up at 7 am and have my mom bringing me a coffee, or wearing that horrible but  beautiful uniform, or seeing my friends everyday, or not studying for a test and still pass...

It's funny how we spent those 12 years complaining and hating school, but when it is almost over, we realize how much we love it, because it is all we know, it is our life.

School is beautiful, and time goes by, and one day we wake up realizing that it is over, and that we are never gonna get it back. School it is not a job you quit knowing that you can come back in 20 years, or college, knowing that if you wanna study something else in the future, you can still do it. School is once in a lifetime, and then it leaves us forever. And it is not just school, it is also being young, naive, innocent, and adventurous, and at the same time, being rebellious, dramatic, and bipolar. It is fighting with your best friend knowing that in 10 minutes you are gonna be best friends again, it is constantly making mistakes but getting over them and keep going, it is learning a new lesson everyday, it is pretending to know it all but knowing nothing at all, it is loving a guy with all your heart without even knowing him, it is crying for things that don't even matter, it is complaining about math or geography without knowing how tough the world can be, it is getting obsessed with each little thing, it is partying until 7 am and getting drunk without having to think about anything else, it is dreaming big, it is constantly reinventing ourselves and change our style, it is having our whole life ahead of us... Being a teenager is so many things, and that spirit slowly leaves us along with school once we are 18.

That day is coming soon, the day where I am gonna become an adult without even realizing, so all I wanna do is enjoy this last year.

Bariloche ???

In Argentina, at the end of senior year, the whole class travels to a city in the south called Bariloche. It's a tradition, and every single school of every single city does that. You are supposed to go there to have fun with your friends from school before you go to college. You basically go to nightclubs every night, get drunk, meet people, and just do stuff that young adults do. But besides all of the fun and crazy parties, it's about saying goodbye to high school, saying goodbye to your inner kid and getting ready to be an adult. It's like the perfect ending to 12 years of school with your friends. That's one of the reasons why I wanted to go back to Argentina: to spend my senior year with all of my friends, and to go to Bariloche.

The thing is... when I think about it, I'm giving up a lot of things just for that trip. I mean, I'm moving to Argentina, I'm leaving America. And sometimes I realize that even if I love all of my friends, I know that 2 years after school I won't even talk to them anymore. Reality is that real friends are less than 10, so do I really wanna leave everything for that experience? At the same time, one of my best friends told me that she is not going because she prefers to travel somewhere else. And now, my other best friend told me that she is researching about going to Europe for a month for the same price of Bariloche. Europe is my dream. And I know this might sound weird, but a trip with my bff is 10 times better than a trip with 40 people that I'm probably never gonna see again after school or after college.

So I don't know what I'm gonna do.

On the other hand, I'm starting to realize that the whole idea of senior year with my friends sounds amazing, but I don't know if it's gonna be thaaaaat awesome in real life. And I'm leaving too many things for it. I'm not just leaving a country, but I'm leaving the chances of doing everything that I couldn't do since I got here. So I gotta admit that I'm going through a confusing time right now. My biggest fear is to regret going back, or to regret staying here. I would love to just go to the future and see what's best. But I obviously cannot do that.

So anyway, I don't know what I'm gonna do in Bariloche, and if I don't go, fate might bring me something even better: Europe.
